The tremors shook buildings and homes, toppled chimneys from resi- dences, broke windows, knocked chinaware from shelves and fright- ened residents in parts of four states, the report said. Evansville, Ind.,, and Mattoon, East St. Louis, Benton, Clinton and Eldo- rado, Ill, and points in the north- western part of Kentucky reported feeling the tremors about 9:30 o'clock. LOUISVILLE, Ky., November 27.— Slight tremors of the earth, continuing for more than a minute, were felt in the western and eastern portions of the city last night at 9:35 o'clock.
