The District Commissioners yester- day amended police regulations plac- ing a fine of $100 upon any person found guilty of giving a false or fictitious name in obtaining auto- mobile license tags. This action was taken upon recom- mendation of Inspector Grant, chief of detectives, who called attention to the fact that bootleggers and other potential criminals may obtain auto- mobile lidenses and give wrong namcs in order o keep the police fr checking up on them once they fall into trouble. The Commissioners also changed the regulations governing the height and weight of applicants for the fire de- partment in order to obtain big men in that service.
