NEW MRS, GOULD AFORMER ACTRESS Long Islapd Sound‘\lillage'rs Recall Mrs. Sinclair as . Mother of Two. By the Assciated Prese. NEW YORK, July ll—Bfludwly and Its show people and 5th and Park ave- nues and their society, folk consulted their best ifiemories to find out who Is the Mre. ‘Alice Sinélair. who became. the second wife of Geéorge J. Gould in Paris last week. Cable dispatches bringing first news of the ruptials to this morning’s news- papers mentioned that she was an &c- tress and had played behind the foot- lights here. ith this for a_clue, it finally was established that she came here in the cast of an English musical comedy some years ago, and had there- after lived In Weat Tond ‘avenue and at a country home on an island in Long Island sound, off Rye. She was a familiar figure in, that village, and resi- dents there said she was the mother of two children. She mingled seldom in the society of the place. For several years, it was said, she and Mr. Gould had been friendly. Mr. Gould's first wife and the mother of his seven children, Mrs. Edith King- don Gould, died less than a year ago, ‘while ‘olfln‘ with him on their coun- try estate, G‘o an Court, near Lake- wood, N. J. er will she bequeathed to Mr. Gould lh!lr splendid mansion in 5th avenue and another residence in the sixties “during his life and until be remarries.” Now that he has remarried, these properties, valued at almost $3.- 000,000, go into a trust:fund in which the children share equally. NUPTIAL DETAILS LACKING. Gould-Sinclair Ceremony May Have Been Elsewhere Than Paris. By the Associated Press. PARIS, July 13.—Deatails of the marriage of George J. Gould and Mrs. Alice Sinclair, which New York dispatches report as having occurred in Paris recently, were unobtainable here. It developed, however, that Mr. and Mrs. Gould arrived in Paris July 4, stopping at the Hotel Meurice, where they registered as coming from London. They were mpanied by members of the Drexel-Biddle family and remained at the hotel for thres days, the Goulds leaving July 7 for what was announced as an extended automobile tour in central and south- ern France, leaving no address. The Drexel-Biddles left for Blarritz. There 18 no record of the Gould- 8inclair marriage at the "American consulate general or at the French prefecture of police, where the regis- try of marriages is kept, and it is assumed that the marriage may have occurred in England or in some other eity in France. —_— HIT RICH GOLD VEIN. « COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., July 13._Gold ore that will assay as hi as $20,000 a ton has been struck the 26,000-foot level of the Porfllnd mine at_Victor, Colo., according to Joseph W.
