Find Traffic Has Not Moved Forward an Hour. The street car and bus companies are becoming more convinced each day that traffic to and from the heart of the city has not moved dhead one hour since the goverriment depart- ments began operating from 8 to 3:30 o'clock instead of from 9 to 4:30. The Washington Rapid Tr Company has gone back to Its regu- lar schedule. President Killeen ®aid the company found there was more demand for the busses between § and j9 oclock in the morning than be- tween 7 and 8 o'clock. The Capital Traction Company. which on May 15 moved its entire schedule ahead one hour, has found it necessary to add extra cars late at night, for the reason that many people are remaining downtown as late as they ever did, despite the earligr rising hour. \ Additional Night Service. On the line from Georgetown to ; 17th street and Pennsylvania avenu? 7 (i southeast, the company will maintain a_five-minute schedule of cars from 11:30 o'clock to midnight and a ten- ute headway from midnight to 0 o'clock. From then until morn- owl service will continue as usu Between the 14th street barn and n station there will be a ten- ute headway from 11:50 to 12:50. The last car before owl service will leave Union station at 1:35 a.m. The last regular car northbound on 7th street from Pennsylvani to Rock Creek will leave at 12:39. The last car from Union station to Takoma will leave the depot at 12:44. The Washington Railway and Elec- tric Company announced Tuesday that it had added special service late at night on its lines. New Bus Line to Start. President Killeen of the _transit company announced today that an- other bus_line would start hafore June 1 on Massachusetts avenue from Union station to Sheridan Circle. On June 1 the bus company will begin issuing transfers between its several lines at these two intersec- tions: Sixteenth street and Scott cir- cle and 12th street and Massachusetts avenue. The company this week began op- erations on its new line from 1st street and Rhode Island avenue north- west to Center market and to Po- tomac Park.
