10 OPTIMISTS VISIT ANGLERS AND EAT CHICKEN DINNER Downpour of Rain Fails to Dampen Spirit of Club Members Along Potomac. iy p Stormy skies and a downpour of Tair had no effects on the spirits of members of the Optimist Club ves- terday, who made an official visita- tion at the Anglers' Club along the Potomac, to partake of a genuine Maryland chicken dinner, listen to talks, but no speeches, and have a general all-around good time. Dr. Wade Atkinson and Major Robb were the official pathfinders, al- though, when they got to the club. they found a party headed by Fred Quinter already on the scene, after a half day’s fishing. To the tune of beating raindrops and a howling up-river wind on the outside, more than two-score mem- bhers lost no time in going to work optimistically to put themselves on the outside of fried chicken, with thick broww gravy, eleven species of vegetables, homemade pie and other e viands. After the dinner Major H. Robb en- tertained one group of the club with a talk on “How I Do It.,” demonstrat- ing his fundamentals for success along various lines. Roland Perry conducted an opposition meeting in another committee room of the club with a lecture on “The Latest Speci- mens of Ossified Articles.” Lee L. Herrell also gave a talk on “Vests apd What They were Made For.” LIEUT. KILROY RESIRED. First Lieut. Raymond F.
