By Cable_to The Star and Chicago Daily News. Copyright, 1922, TOKIO, May 11.—The far eastern republic is preparing for an of- fensive movement, the purpose of which is to drive the Japanese from Siberia, in consequence of the breakdown of the Dairen confer- ence. With this end in view, ac- cording to Asahi Shimbun corre- spondent in Seoul, Chita is enlist- ing 6,000 Korean insurrectionaries. A considerable sum of money has ulready been appropriated for mu- nitions and other supplies for the Koreans, Some observers profess to see in this development proof that Japam has no intention of withdrawing her trcops from Siberia and this ms to be confirmed t fresh Japanese those whose time v of service has expired. Semi-offi- f y it is made known that the office is alarmed at the pos- of a recurrence of the Korean insurrection. Preparations being_made to take drastic measures in Siberia in the event that the reports men- tioned are confirmed. The author- ities are determined to prevent in- roads on their control in Korea and to prevent further aggressions in Siberia. SOFIA CHARGES SPIES DIRECTED BY WRANGLE KEEP TAB ON SOVIETS By the Associated Press. SOF Bulgaria, May 10.—The discovery of a widespread espio- nage organization directed by mem- bers of the staff of Gen. Wrangel, former anti-bolshevik leader in south Russia, is announced by the organization, they de- 3 s intended to keep track of all the Russian soviet govern- ment's agents in Bulgaria. Sev- eral Russian officers have been ar- rested. The announcement has drawn out ions of belief from of Gen. Wrangel's army now in the country. The presence of these troops 'in Bulgaria was recently pro- tested by the Ukrainian soviet gov- ernment. Bulgaria responded, how- ever, that all such troops had been disarmed. < At Genoa last week Premier Stam- boulisky of Bulgaria announced ‘that Gen. Wrangel had been granted per- mission to sojourn in Bulgaria as a private Individual and not as com- mander of his army, the majority of which took refuge in Bulgarian ter- ritory last year after its defeat by the soviet forces.
