Joseph I Fink as fli | deacon and Rev. John A. Dixon as | | subdeacon. Rev. George L. Coyle Ji{N | was . master of ceremonies. The sermon was preached by Rev. Richard H. Tierney, S. J., editor of I { America, a national Catholic weekly. A social .reunion and reception for alumni and old students of Gonzaga was conducted last night in the lower auditorium of the college with Wal- ter L Plant, president of the.alumni l| |association, presiding. A program of j|| | entertainment was presented under, ‘th: direction of Bernard E. Shles- nger. i Tonight at 8:15, in the college audi- ifll { torium, the Gonzaga Dramatic Asso- il | clation will offer its centennial pro- il |duction of “Macbeth,” under the di- rection of Rev. Robert T. Smith, dra- matic and athletic instructor at Gon- = |3aga. The cast will include John J. O'Connor, Francis X. Foley, Aloysius B. Connelly, Ralph McD. Robertson, Leo A. Bond, William E. The music throughout is quite attractive, although the romance of the story seems weak. Tabor and Green, ebony comedians in character- izations, are much more than that. The Melroy Sisters have a fine line . of specialties, including character songs, eccentric and clog dancing; Freemont Benton and com- pany, a playlet, “Handkerchiet 13,” which causes much amusement, and Harry Bentell, an excellent offering of xylophone selections mingled with soft shoe dancing. The added matinee feature is a de- lightful little romance of the petted daughter of a wealthy man and a modern _‘“cave man,” who won her heart. It is called “Moonlight Fol- lies,” features pretty Marie Prevost, and is a King Baggott pioture. Bus- ter Keaton's funny triala as “The Goat,"” the International News, show- ing many of the French delegates to the current conference, and other pictures of a comic character are shown at all performances. Frank Finney, a favorite with the burlesque patrons, is at the Gayety ‘Theater this week with a brand-new offering bearing his name. The show has many ideas that are distinctly original, and Finney is seen at his best. his. repartee is thoroughly en- Joyable and many of his lines and stunts are evidently impromptu. Ernest Mack i8 good as Finney's foil and also as an individual enter- tainer, being an ecoentric dancer of merit. The pair have a novel and Inughable stunt in the second act, a ‘burlesque on a small town election, with some new ideas on how pre- election speeches should be made. Al- thea Barnes, good to look upon, and Marie Worth have most nf tha o~~~ numbers, and a trio composed of Wil- liam Rogers, Vincent >canian wud Roger Little dispense some good har- mony. Others in the cast- include Laura Houston, Pauline Hinman, Wil- liam Evans and Raymond Payne. ‘The chorus s an acceptable adjunct to the show, and ‘one of the “ponies” shows enough “pep” and abllity to warrant the prediction that she will be seen later in more important roles. ‘The costumes are very pretty, espe- clally the ones worn in the widow song in the first act, and the scenery does - credit to the artist who de- eigned it.
