FASHION CREATIONS OF THE STAGE. MISS CONSTANCE HOPE Wore a_chic suit of brown satin in “'Way Down East” at the Shubert- Garrick. BY ELENORE DE WITT EBY. E blll at Keith's for the current week appealed to the writer as being so unusually good that it was rather difficult to. concentrate upon sketching the gowns. It fre- quently happens that the costumes are the loveliest feature of a theatrical entertainment, and the most interest- ing, but there was so much genuine humor, mixed with graceful dancing, in the clever little skits on the vaude- ville menu this week that the gowns, although they were very beautiful, were forced into a secondary position. The pen would fain trace some of the clever songs and stories, but it could not embody the personality of the ac- tors, and so it will only give a word of advice to readers, “Go and see for yourselves,” and then proceed with the fashion write-un. Florence Moors would have been just as screamingly funny garbed in a attractive creation of black tulle. The blouse was cut surplice fashion, cro. ing in front, and had short kimono sleeves. A black camisole foundation was visible abdve the V formed by the surplice effect of the bodice and had the appearance of a vestec. The skirt had three wide and full tulle flounces appliqued around it and slanting obliquely upward toward one side. The topmost flounce was caught to the foundation skirt with jet beading, and the same kind of trimming was also| used for the shoulder straps of the| camisole. A wide sash girdle of black | satin was tled in one large loop at the side and added the finishing touch.
