One week's training at Camp Simms will be held July '9 to 16, inclusive, i and anothgr week's training will be held at Camp Humphreys July 17 to 3. At the latter camp thorough in- struction in the more advanced parts | of engineer instruction will be offer- ed the guardsmen. The members of the guard who par- ticipated in the special camp héld at Camp Simme, which ended June 12, show great improvement, according ! to the ofiicers of the commang. The camp was one of the most successful ever held by local guardsmen. Both Capt. A. B. Shattuck, jr. and Lieut. ©. E. Walsh of the Engineer Corps, who were instructors at the camp, spoke highly of the manner in which the officers and enlisted men sought | to obtain basic military engineering knowledge.
