404 WAR NURSES GIVEN DIPLONAS Gen. Pershing Presents Hon- ors at Walter Reed to Famous Class of 1918. Commencement exercises were held by the Army School of Nursing this morning at Walter Reed Hospital, when, following a brief address by Maj. Julia C. Stimson, dean of the school, Gen. Pershing presented 404 diplomas, twenty of which were hon- orary, to the graduating nurses who comprised the famous war class of 1918. A silver loving cup was pre- sented to Col. Glennan, commanding officer of Walter Reed. Surgeon General Ireland presented the Rea scholarship of $1.500 entitling the winner to a free course at Colum- bia University. Invocation was said by Chaplain Jobn W. Daily, U. S. A Benediction was sald by Chaplain Mil- ton O. Beebe, U, S. A. Music was furnished by the United States Marine | _A dance will be given tonight at the Knights of Columbus Hut. Tomorrow night, at 8:15 o'clock, a pageant will be given in the formal garden. The pageant will be ‘entitled “A Vision of the Future,” and will be enacted by the graduating nurses under the direc- tion of Mrs. M oore Forrest. ma Winners.
