Exports of breadstuffs from the United States during December, 1920, totaled $96,237,608 in value, the De- partment of Commerce announced yes- terday. This total compared with total exports of $55,775,989 of breadstuffs in_December, 1919. Exports of mineral oils in December totaled $62,447,747 in value, as against $33.227,055 in December, 1919. Meat and dairy products in December were exported to the value of $52.866,131, against $63.231,397 in December, 1919. Health Department Chemists Re- port Samples Are “Weak.” The health department, it has been learned, is investigating reports that some 'whisky being sold by local druggists on physician’s p scriptions is adulterataed, probab! with water, Health Officer William C. Fowler stated that one sample al- ready analyized by his chemists was found to be considerably wéaker than the required percentage of alcohol. The whisky tested, it was said, was obtained from a drug store on a bona fide prescription for a sick ‘person. Dr. Fowler has written Prohi- bition Commissioner Krameér, asking the commissioner if hig office should handle sich cases, or whether he pre- fers tke local health authorities to deal with it. Holmes' Hotel, 333 Virginia avesue southwest, was damaged by fire yes- terday afternoon. Sergt. A. C. Mec- Mahaney and Private J._R. Best were overcome by smoke and taken to Emergency Hospital.
