Beaminstion feet ea Tate Contemplated Structure on the Site of Wil- lard Hall. Will Be Occupied by the Union Trust and Storage Company— Its Main Features. A handsome addition to the business structures of the city is to be made by the erection of the building to be occupied for office purposes by the Union Trust and Storage Company. The directors of the company have recently been giving atten- tion to various plans and designs for the Proposed new structure, and have decided upon the design for the exterior submitted by Marsh & Peter, architects, and for the interior by Waddy B. Wood, architect. The latter will have a central aisle with tne rooms for the various officers and employes of the company on each side. The unusual width of the lot which will be occupied ccntributes very nicely to such a design, as it is the purpose to use forty feet of the frontage now taken up by the Willard Hall building on the south side of F street be- tween 4th and 15th streets northwest. This property is owned by Capt. Joseph E. Willard, and he intends to erect there a building designed exclusively for the use of the company. It will have a frontage of forty feet, will extend back 100 feet t an alley and will be about fifty fect height. It will be only one story in height, and the lofty ceiling, with the windows in the roof, will give an interior that will be airy and well lighted. The front will be built of granite, and the design, while rather plain in detail, will be sufficient! mental to give that va- pleasing even in the exterior of a structure intended for busines: poses. Their influence still exists, howtver, and is to be traced in the “appreciations” thet one set of “literary men" do of other “literary men,"* which later are returned In kind. ie > ‘The lawyer, also, refers to the opposing counsel as “my learned brother,’ when, in his own mind, he thinks that his “‘learsed brother’ (1) does not know enough to go inside when it rains. The Doc- tor looks wise when called;in om/'a consultation by his “esteemed friend,"’ Dr. No Nothing. It is all a case of “you tickle me’” and “Pil Tickle You” In the brokerage business, there is no mutual admiration business; almost every trader thinks that be knows more than the other fellow, and laughs derisively when his “‘friend'’ gets wrong on the market. It isn't so with the genuine broker, however, because the more money a customer makes the more orders the broker will get; that 1s why the byoker tries to give good advice, and ts really- sorry when he is wrong. That is also why we advise buying wheat; our commission would be the same if you sold it; but we are afraid that would be the wrong side.
