Directors of the New Line Meet and Work Will Be Immediately Pushed. This morning a meeting of the officers, di- rectors and others interested in the District of Columbia Suburban railroad was held at room 76 of the Washington Loan and Trust building and the routes proposed and the prospects of the company talked o Col. Gilbert Noyes president), Judge Geo. P. Davis (vice presi- dent and superintendent), Prof. L. C. Loomis, T. C. Daniel, Mr. Sidney E. Mudd. Phil W. Chew, Jere Johnson, Ira P. Baker and Jobn W. Childress are the di- rectors, Harry Barton secretary and Col. D. W. Glassie the attorney, and all of whom are in- terested in Northeast Washington, Brookland. Langdon and Bladensburg road and thus far the stock is being subscril property holders along the line to «uch an ex- tent as to give assurance that the 30,000 popu- lation of the northeast section of the District will have the same facilities as are now enjoyed | by other sections of the District. ‘THE ROUTE. The route is along the Bladensburg road from the District line by way of H, 7th and G streets northeast, Ist street, New Jersey ave- nue. G and Sth streets, Louisianna avenue to ‘Tth street northwest to the center of the city. Langdon, Brookland and other subdivisions in the proposed branches. On the other end of the proposed road are the historic shington Inn at Bladensburg, the battle the dueling ground where Decatur fell, ‘ residence and chureh. For nearly a year past a number of musically nclined members of the Grand Army of the Republic have been meeting at the residence of Comrade E. D. Tracy to practice the singing of patriotic and other music. The movement be- gan with members of Kit Carson Post, No. 2, but has gradually drawn into it members of other posts until they now number over forty. During the last two weeks a permanent orgat zation has been effected and the following | fades elected as officers, viz: Presi- | Coleman; vice president, C. M. D. Browne; secretary, J. E. Albert Wheeler, alias Charles White, a col- ored man, plead guilty to housebreaking in en- tering the house of Hudolph Hassler on Sep- tember 8 and was also guilty of the case in which he is charge of entering the stable of W. C. Bergman. He stated that the stable door was open and it was daylight. He was sen- tenced to four years in the Albany penitentiary. P In the case of John Richardson, convicted on the 15th instant of housebreaking, a motion for a new trial was overruled and ho was sentenced to five years in the Albany penitentiary.
