A PATRIOTIC BANQUET. How the Sons of the American Revolution Remembered the Battle of the Cowpens. ‘The battle of the Cowpens was fought 111 years ago yesterday. This fact probably es caped the notice of many people, but it was not forgotten by the Sons of the American Revolu- tiva in the District, who fitiy celebrated the anni- Fersary Saturday night with a most enjoyable banquet at the Hotel Cochran. The incidents of the dinner, the masic, the bugle calls and the speeches had a ring in them that was fully up to the s‘andard of patriotism of 1781, and undoubted! ead hungry band of ancestors who m gallant stand at the Cowpens would have freely admitted that the dinner was far ulead of their standard. The forty-starred fing that was un- furled Saturc ht represented a wonderfal Progress since the days of Cowpens; the mena @f the dinner also repreeented a remarkable progress in another direction.
