The Convicted Poisoncr Breaks Down as He Enters, Caxox Crrv, Cor, Jan. 12—Dr. Graves ar rived heré shortly after midnight. He was nut alone, for four other prisoners sentenced for various. crimes were taken to the penitentiary at the same time. Dr. Graves was securely shackeled and was handcuffed to another prisoner, who was sentenced to: serve a term in prison for the crime of forgery. On the journey from Denver to this place the doo- tor displayed a great deal of verve, chatting in sn unconcerned manner about things in general, but refusing to talk about his case. On arrival bere Dr. Graves and his fellow prisoners were taken to the penitentiary, about « mile from the railway station. The enormous pile . the penitentiary looks even colder than the weather, and the doctor,as he glanced at the walls before passing through the Leavy door of the main entrvace shivered as if from ague. Alter entering the prison the doctor was al- lowed «short time by the fire and graduall recovered his composure. A burried search of the doctors clothes was made, but nothing of a contraband nature was found. Lee de- manded jovey, and as Lochner pushed him away the boy's revolver went off. Whom Lochner bad not seen, then shot the man.
