Tomorrow will be a gala day in football for Washington, as two games will be played, one on Analostan Island, under the auspices of the Columbia Athletic Club, and the other at Capi- tol Park. On the island the Columbia team will have as opponents the famous Princeton University team, the present champions of college football. The match should be a most interesting one, not only on account of the good record which the Columbia team has made, but from the general interest felt in seeing Princeton's famous team, especially in view of the big Yale-Princeton games which will be Biaved in New York on Thanksgiving day. rhe game will be commenced promptly at 4 o'clock, and it is certain that the Columbia boys will do everything to assure the comfort of the spectators. Andrew Jackson, a colored man of North Washington, was passing in front of Thou Bureb’s dry goods store on 7th street yesterday when he grabbed a bolt of red flannel and ran } off with it. The clerks in the store gave chase and Jackson dropped bis plunder. Policeman Jobn Daley captured Juckson. When the prisoner faced Judge Miller today he declared thathe had never seen the flannel. Judge Miller did not believe his story and gave Lim a sentence that will expire about the lirst day of next May, when be will not need flannel under- clothing. — Wanted Time to Pay His Fine. Aneatly dressed colored man—Henry, alias Harry Scott—was tried in the Police Court today for assaulting Cornelius Coles. Scott told Judge Miller that he go: in trouble a year ago and then joined church, since which time he had not drank anything intoxicating. Yester- day, he said, he met Coles and the latter in- sisted on his drinking. He refused, but Coles — him into a saloon and ordered two gins. Soles drank one glass, but witness left his drink on the bar. When they got outside they had some words about money, and he admitted striking Coles with a cane. Scott, who was fined $3, wanted time to pay it. and his counsel also asked for time, which the judge refused to grant. “If you ‘t think I'll pay.” said Scott to the judge, “you can come and go howe with me and I'll give you the money.” “Step aside.” en The Woman’s Clinic. In the Criminal Court today George Cole- man, twenty-nine years old, hailing from New York, plead guilty to housebreaking at the saloon of F. J. Miller, September 6. He was indicted with James Hopkins and some money and acheck for $6 was taken from him. An attempt to pass the check led to the arrest. Glick agt. the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company—for $10,000 damages for injury to Property om the line of the Metropolitan Branch and at the Y—was argued yesterday by Messrs. W. A. Cook, C. Carrington and J. A. Maede! for the piaintiff and Messrs, Morris and Hamilton for defendant.
