Boyd, a witness in a case in the Cir- cuit Court, and after » few words Mr. Smith slapped or struck Mr, Boyd. A few blows were passed when Detective Block interfered and prevented any further breach of the pence. Mr. smith at once submitted to arrest and, going to the Police Court, left £50 collateral for his appearance. The dispute arose over a claim which Mr, Smith has against Mr, Boyd.
