THE SATURDAY STAR. A Long List of Attractive Features for Tomorrow’s Paper. The twelve-page Stan tomorrow night will be filled with interesting reading matter. Many special articles have been prepared for this number besides the regular features of the Saturday paper. The paper will contain the fourth installment of Mr. Stockton’s bright serial, in which he will carry the reader still further into the mysteries of “The Three Burglars.” The approach of the winter sea- fon at the capital is centering interest in social matters. Tux Stan tomorrow will publish much that is timely and readable regarding the coming gayeties apd notable people who will figure prominently in society here. The com- ing of Congress, too, brings up for discussion many topics of local and national interest, and ‘these themes will receive a share of the space of tomorrow's edition. The events and gossip of interest in every field of thought and ac- tivity will be fully chronicled. Besides these special features Tux Star will give, as is its custom, all the news of the day. Broadback, charging him with keeping an unlicensed bar. ‘The person named has the bar privileges on the Alexandria ferry boate and, it is alleged, that he has conducted the business without a license. The question to be decided is an in- teresting one, as it will be for the court to determine whether it has jurisdiction on the river or not. The case was called to the at- tention of Judge Miller this morning and was continued for one week. Mr. A. B. Williams represents the defendan’ ee The Imp: tal Hotel Sold. The Imperial hotel property, adjoining the National theater .n E street between 13th and th streets northwest, has been sold by the owner, Mr. D. Barber of New York, to Mr. Wm. H. Godds:i of this city. The sale was made the fugh Thomas J. Fisher & Co. in con- Junction with W. W. Metcalf, and the price paid was $75,000. The property has a frouuge of 70 feet and the lot has a depth of 159 feet. It i» the intention of the purchaser to lease the building to Mr. Harris, who was the last lessee of the property. and it will be opened at once asa hotel, a ee Two Deserted Wives Divorced. Today in the Equity Court Judge Cox made a decree of divorce in the case of Lulu How- ard against James H. Howard, giving the com- plainant the right to resume her maiden name of Baumgarten. The bill. filed by Mr. D. E. Cahill, states they were married December 2 1885, and lived together as husband and wife till April, 186, wh- 2 be abandoned and deserted her without cause, and is now, she believes, in Philadelphia. Judge Cox also made a decree of divorce in the case of Mattie Aiken, nee Walker, against Heary W. Aiken in favor of complainant. The Dill, filed by Col. Jack Brown, states they were married in Baltimore March 5, 1895, the plain- tiff being a clerk in the Interior department, and it was agreed that as soon as defendaut established himself ina paying business she would resign her position and rely on him for support. She charges that, notwithstanding the agreement, be has led « wandering, thrift- less life, and failed to establish himself in business. and she has continued in the depart: ment. and that in the May tollowing the mar- riage he virtually deserted her, and October 6, 1886, he left for California. ——___ Real Estate Matters.
