Tue Gas Questiox.—The time is near at which the city council must determine the question of the continuance of the experiment of sapplying oil-gas from the city works here. Itis understood that the joil-gas contractors will not attempt to force the city to use their gas making methods unless the gas is proven fo be entirely satisfactory; but they say. that the only two qualities whieh they guaranteed were better light and less cost of manufacture than the coal-gas. In both these respects they claim that their plant has Leen asuccess.
