Peter Cannon, of Stirling, and Robert Hunter, of Govan, ran the above distance on Monday evening at Victoria Grounds, Govan. Advertiser. ‘The rainy Sundays lately have had rather a de- moralizing effect on the church congregations, but one Portiand minister does not let this discourage him, having in mind a story that Dr. Payson, of ‘this city, used to tell. One very stormy Sunday he Went to church more from habit than because he expected to find anybody there.
