The pur- pose of the adoption of resolutions and petitions to the President and the District Commissioners, protesting against the location of a colored indus- trial school in. the edifice known as the “Mary Hall House,” at the corner of 45 street and Mary- land avenue southwest. Draper, the pastor of Ebenezer church, and the singing of 'a hymn, the permanent organi- zation of the meeting was effected by the election of Mr. Atkinson as chairman and J.D, Baitimore as secretary. ‘The chai appotuted a committee on. resolu- tions, as follows: J. RESOLUTIONS TO STAND BY THE RIDDLEBERGER ACT. ‘The Virginia senate finance committee has sub- mitted a majority report on the settlement of the Virginia dgbt, embracing resolutions: 1, That the governor be authorized and requested to direct the officers of the State to supend all proceedings of the commonwealth against parties who have heretofore tendered coupons for taxes due the commonwealth until January 25, 1888, provided the Dondholders shail also cease all attempts to tender oF to Inducef others to tender coupons for taxes, and that the bondholders or thetr agents shall publish a circular that they will not sustain the taxpayers tn any attempt to use coupons for saxes during the same period. 2.
