TIARY—CORRESPONDENCE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL WITH THE PRISON AUTHORITIES, The Attorney General yesterday telegraphed the superintendent of the Albany penitentiary asking him {f the reports of an epidemic in the penitentiary were correct, and if so, what pro- vision had been made for the care of the United States prisoners. Late last night he received the following telegram, signed by the superin- tendent and the health officer of the prison: “Statement referred to greatly exaggerated. There is some typhus fever iu the penitentiary, but_no United States prisoners have been at. tacked.
