About five o’clock yesterday afternoon, at the southeast corner of 6th and C streets northwest, & difficulty occurred between ex-Detective George Miller and Charles Leary, in which the lutter was badly beaten. Leary'states that he was drunk, and was talking with a Mr. Lane as to money matters, when he saw Miller ap- proaching and turned his back, and the latter Struck bim under the jaw from behind and then on the nose, knocking him senseless, and he was kieked several times.
