Swalm knew also about this matter. ‘The motion was overruled. ‘The witness sald that about a month before the Interview with Gen. Swaim he found Col. Morrow in terribly depressed spirits, Witness went to him and sald: “Morrow, there ts something the matter With you; whatis 12" Witness went with Col Morrow to his room at the Ebbitt House, and there Col. Morrow laid the whole matter berore him. GEN. N'KIBBEN DOES NOT BELONG TO A POKER CLUB. “I don't belong,” sald the witness, “to a poker lub. Tid not owe Col. Morrow and he did not owe me.
