This morning, in the Special Criminal Court, Judge Hagner, the trial of the colored man, Frank ‘Minor, for the murder of his wife, Victorla Minor, on the 11th of October last, was resumed—District Attorney Corkhill and Assistant District Attorne Moore for the government, and Messrs. T. F. Mii- ler and E. D. Welgnt for the prisoner. THE SELECTION OF JURORS ‘Was proceeded with, and the talesmen were called as follows :—George W. Hager, challenged; W. 3. Orton, do. ; James Fitzpatrick, do.; W. Scott Chew failed to answer; John H. PROGRAM OF CEREMONIES ON THE 19TH INST. ‘The pfeparation of the foundation of the statue of Prof. Henry, which 1s to be erected in the Suilthsonian grounds, was begun on Monday by direction of Col. Rockwell, the superintendent of public grounds. ‘The following 1s the program of the unvelling ceremonies, which;twill take place Ou the 19th of April: “Music by the Marine band, singing by the Philharmonic Society, unveiling of the statue by Chet Justice Waite With appropriate remarks, address by President Noah Porter, closing prayer by Rev. A. A. Hodge, D. D., the president of the Princeton Theological Seminary.” It is expected that the President of the United States will preside. ‘The executive committee have asked Gen. Poe, of Gen. Sherman’s staff, to act as the officer of the day. The site for the statue 1s a small triangular space northwest of the Smithsonian building and only a short distance from it. The Philnarmonic Soclety at their mecting last night accepted the invitation to arrange the masical portion of the ceremonies of unveiling the statue. oe District Government Affairy.
