Gregory against Matthews et al, trustees of the public Schools— application for & mandamus to compel the de- fendants to admit the child of the relator to the Prescott schpol building, (on 7th street, above Boundary,)—was taken up. lessrs. The defendants this morning file pleas that under the act of Congress reorganizing the board the subject was within the discretion of the board, and they had acted under that discretion. The re- lator filed a demurrer, and the court said for want Of time the ease would be continued to the Septem- er term. It is stated now that there is a probability of his following the prece- dent set by Secretary Windom, and continue the 63, and thus help the banks out with their bonds deposited for circulation and commence at once to callthe 53. This, however, Secretary Folger will hardly do except by authority of Congress.
