F bE 3 fs - us ‘00° soe ce aA azuateur or ir liberty in the future selection of investments, will com- ute the net premiums and reserves upon suture polt- cies on the assumption of earning 3 per cent interest on the best long investmente, instead af 4 per cent, which is now and will remain the basis af business now ex- isting. As a further basis it assumes the rato of mortality shown by the American Experience Table, the entire safety of which, ag an assumption for the future, has been fully proved. Its contracts will thus be more securely based than any now written; and so long asthe actual rate of in- terest remains above the assumed rate, the larger re- serves invested will give the larger returns of surplus interest. ‘The now premiums charged for policies, while pro- viding a larxer reserve for future safety, will give the advantage of the company's unrivalled economy in management; being on annual premium life policies on the average something less than those heretofore charged. ‘Its new policies will contain some most important NEW FEATURES: ‘While inost mien never get beyond the neod for insur- ance, nearly all look forward toa time when others will be no longer dependent upon them and when they may ‘wish to have all tho remaining surplus from past labors available for personal use. Hence they take endow- ‘ment policies for such periods as they think will cover the need of insurance, and payable to themselves after- wards; to which there are two essential objections: Ist, ‘That in point of fact they usually need the insurance after the term of the policy has oxpired, but have then become uninsursble, or can only get new insurfince at mugy higher premium because of advanced age; 24, ‘That the premiums for enownionta are so much higher than for life policics that men cannot usually afford by this means to carry as much insurance as thelr familics need, In order to give a method by which ono can carry the larest possible amount to protect his family Just as long as they may need it, and yet make the payments, less the cost of insurance had, available at ence shoula the need of insurance ceaso, wo offer the following: ‘The Whole Life Policy at the ordinary annual prem- ium, or with s limited number of premiums; all sur- plus credited upon the policy may be left with the com- pany to accumulate at such rate of interest as may be determied by the Directors, to be paid with the policy, at its maturity, to the person entitled thereto. At tho end of each period of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, etc., years from the issue of such policy, the parties in interest may surrender the same foracash value as therein agreed, together with the amount of the surplus previously. credited and so accumulated. Or;paid-up insurance may then be taken for such amount as the cash value and surplus previously cred- ited will buy asa single premium. Should the policy lapse at any intervening year of the above periods, and after three premiums have been paid, paid-up insurance will be given, on surrender of the policy according to its terms, for such amount as the reserve and surplus previously credited, lesa a small surrender charge, will buy as a single premium. EAcH POLIoy WILL HAVE ATTACHED A TABLE OF CASH VALUES GROWING OUT OF THE RESERVE, AND THE ACCUMULATION OF SURPLUS WILL BE STATED EACH YEAR. The accumulated surplus may be used in case of ne- cessity to pay current premiums, ‘This gives the greatest amount of insurance the pre- mdiums can buy while insurance is needed, and also gives their ertire effect as an endowment if insurance ‘becomes unnecessary. The longer the polioy runs the greater its value, both as an insurance and an endow- ment, and the higher reserve required by the assump- tion of 3 per cent. interest makes the policy just 80 much the more valuable as an endowment. ‘We believe it, as we intend it to be, the safest, most ‘Valuable, and most liberal contract ever written, JACOB L. GREENE, JOHN M. TAYLOR, Secretary. ABEOT, Assistant Secretary. ‘Takes pleasure in informing their many patrons and customers that they have added to their now wel) equipped store a branch devoted entirely to MEN'S AND YOUTHS’ READY MADE CLOTHING. ‘The goods will be made up from the finest domestic WOOLEN, CHEVIOTS, CASHMERES, etc., from the best houses of the land.
