The apnual meeting of the stockholders of the Baltimore & Potomac Rallrosd Company Was held yesterday in Baltimore. The report of President Bowle and the board of directors showed that the gross earnings from all sourees Weré $790, 147.97, of which the Washington line and tupnel were $745,460.39, and the Popo’a Creek line $41, . Showing an increase, as compared with 1879, on the Washington line of 0,375.32, and on’ the Pope's Creek line of $3,108 42. The total expenses were $632, of which the Washingtcn line were $511. ana the Pope’s Creek line $61.525.62. The net earnings were for the Washington line $177,322.82; the loss on the Pope’s Creek line Was $19,535.64, making the entire net earatng3 $157,454 18. There were expended in construct- log the double track at both Baltimore and Washington ends $55,551.47. During the year 542 tons Of steel rails were laid on the Wash- ington Une, and 46,435 new cross-ties on the two lines. The trestle bridge over the Pa- ize, near Washington, thoroughly rebuilt. Of the decedents, 19 were white males, 15 white females, 15 colored males and 8 colored females, showing an annual death-rate of 14.7 per 1,000 for the white population and 199 for the col- ored. From phthisis pulmonatis or consump- tion there were 16 deaths, and diseases of the nervous sysiem 12; there were also 2 deaths by homicide, 3 by suicide and 2 by accidents.
