It was supposed that he had committed sutcide. No acseription of the young man could be obtained. —__ Fire in the New Jersey State Prison. TRENTON, N.J., Sept. 8.—A fire broke out this morning at 2 o'clock in the New Jersey state “ho yard. It originated 1n the shop oceupied y A. C. Debert & Co., where a lange number of convicts are employed in the manufacture cf shoes, and which is filled with mactinery. It Was almost entirely destroyed. Most of the stock 1s injured. Loss $40,000; Insurance $15.00). In the shop used as a laundry, about 80,000 shirts, with the machinery tn the place, were damaged; loss about $15,000. Another shoe shop, occupied by McKnight & Co., suffered to the amount of $5,000, principally from water. The shop b« longed to the state, and the loss fs about, $10,000; no Insurance. About three hundred Convicts will be thrown out of employment for three months at least. The fire 1s supposed to have originated from waste deposits. An Unpopular Gold Finder, DENVER, Cot., Sept. 7.—Advices from Santa Fe state that Los Rositas, a new mining camp. 40 miles from Santa Fe, where recently rich Teck was discovered in the foundations of Louses, Jesse Martin, the proprietor, who dis- covered the ore and located the mines in the Principal streets, was driven trom the town by Mexican Inhabitants, who dislike the idea of a large influx of miners that may be caused there- by.
