After being refused leave of absence by the chiet signal officer once he ap plied twice more, urging the necessity that ne should be granted leave. Mahone has issued a call for a meeting of the state commtt- tee and electors of the readjusters in Richmond on the 15th Inst. The Coming Yellow Fever Vessels. AID FROM THE NATIONAL BOARD OF HEALTH. The executive committee of the national board of health yet yesterday afternoon, and di cided to grant all the funds necessary to aid the District authorities in dealing with the yellow fever vessels approaching tis port. It was also decided to appoint an inspector by the board to make a thorough inspection and a com- plete disinfection of such vessels. There is no tuth in the statement that the national board refused to ald the authorities. THE STEAM LAUNCH. Health Officer Townshend made arrange- ments last evening with Commander Pa'terson of the navy yard for the use of a steam launca to be used in the boarding of vessel3 suspected of baving yeliow fever on board, and this morn- ing the Distilct Commissioners sent Chief Clerk J. C, McGuire and Dr. Theodore Mead, an ass! tantto Dr. Townshend, with orders to tak passage on such stawm Jaunch as may be as- signed for the purpose by Commander Patter- son at the navy yard, and cruise up and down the river, to intercept the schooner Ema J.
