DRY GOODS. A LirTLe Too Previovs.—An amusing tllus-| @PECIAL, _ tration of the lability of immature journalists to “slop over” upon occasion was presented in Georgia last week. The story came down to Rome from Atlanta that Governor Colquitt had telegraphed Bere Hayes, tendering him $0,000 Geo ho will respond on his call on three days’ motos to) go to Maine for the pur- pose of preserving law and order.” Whereupon the youthful editor sprang to type with. “This is as it should be, and we are glad that Georgia has an executive so ready to vindicate, the inieg- rity of our glorious union, which, in the jaa- guage of immortal Cea) “must and, by the ‘Bternal, shall, be pi rved.’” Of course, Col- quitt hadn't done fiything of the kind. FRANK LESLIE'S WILL AnD His DISINHERITED S A special to the Philadelphia Press from ork, Jan. 15, says:—The will of Frank Dealte. w hich to-day was offered for probate by his widow in the surrogate’s office, was made on December 27, 1879. The widow receives what- ever is left’ of the property, and nothing is given to either of the sons, Henry and Alfred, or to the grandchild, Leonetta Leslie. The will par- ticularly bequeathes to the widow “the trade- mark of name,” under which Leslie published s newspapers and periodicals. and all his in- terest_in them. aiter the pres nt arrangement with his creditors shall . It ex- presses the wish that the widow shall continue the business after this agreement hi pired, and speaks of her as having “contributed large. ly” in the establishment of his periodicals. Alfred Leslie, one of the disinherited sons, called at the surrogate’s office to look at the will to- day, and there isa rumor that a contest of it will be begun. One of the sons it may be re- membered was publishing a paper called Frank Leslie, Jr.'s Paper, with the “Jr” in very small type, and a lawsuit was pending between father and son at the time of the former's death. HOKED TO DEATH.—A man named Meyers, of st Albany, & workman on the New York Central railroad, was choked to death last night while trying to eat a piece of fresh pork. Goy. WitTz and Lieut. G D. McEnery, of La., were inaugurated Wednesday, and ye: terday Gov. Wiltz sent his message to the legi: lature.
