This morning, about 2% o’clock, the resi- dents of Benning’s and vicinity, (about five | miles out on the Baltimore and Potomac railroad, and about two miles east of the | eastern terminus of H street north.) were awakened by a bright iight and an occa- sional cry of fire. It was soon ascertained that the « d stand” a frame stracture within the National Driving Park of Mr. F. P. Hill was in flames. Officer Alder, Mr Newman, (who has charge of the track,) Messrs. Packard, Nolan, and others at once hastened to the park. About tais time the @rand stand fell in,and there was little use attempting to save anything about the build- ing, which wasa large frame structure, 300 feet long and 50 feet wide, and in which was @ restaurant, offices, &c.
