The lecturer quoted in the most epthusiastic manner from the tributes paid to th. father of our country by great men of all nations. John incy Adams, John Hancock, Samuel Otis, Napoleon L., Lord Erskine, Lord John (now Ear!) Russell, Byron, Thackeray, Edward Ey- erett and Daniel Webster were freely quoted from to show the estimation in which the hero, patriot and statesman was held. Napoleon eaid :-—** Washington dead!
