In @ conversation with the medical gentle- men composing the Board of Health as to the cascs reported in this city, the opinion is given that there are probably no cases of genuine epidemic cholera existing, but severe cases of choleta-morbus, resembling, very nearly, the genuine Asiatic cholera, and which, in their Peculiar indications, may be truthfally pro- nounced cases of sporadie cholera. The symptoms are nearly identical—pais in the bowels, followed by looseness, without much succeeding pain unti) a collapse of the entire system, sets in very soon, and unless ar- rested by medicinal agencies, soon terminates fatally. ‘The patient, when first attacked, shonld use remedies event the relaxation of the bow- eis, avoid exeitement, avoid the use of fruits, vegetables, and all fancy dishes; use the staple and wholesome articles of food, and send for & physician as soon as possible. vith the proper ary precautions by the authorities, and an earnest peration on the tof housekeepers aml individuals in kesp- their premises cieanly and wholesome, there need be no fear of the disease in this cily, which is believed to be in a better sanitary con- ition generally than ever before.
