Frick, collector for the 10th of Pennsylvania. Oprna.—In consequence of the hoarseness of Tom Karl, tenor of the Parepa-Rosa troupe, the opera of Martha will be substituted to-night for Lucrezia. ‘The cast for Martha is a very attractive one, containing Madame Parepa Rosa, Mrs. Seguin, Mr. Castle, Mr. Campbell, Mr. E Seguin, and Mr. Hall. ‘The demand for seats for peratic season has been large, and it will undoubtedly be one of much britliancy. The Expected Display To-Night. The usual November meteoric shower is ex- pected to-night, with the maximum display about three or four o'clock to-morrow morning. Should the weather be clear at that time a number of metcors may no doubt be seen, some of them brilliant enough to cast ashadow. The occurrence of these meteoric showers is ac- counted for by the fact that about the 13th of November of every year the earth passes throng a meteoric belt which crosses our orbit. They revolve in an PE powite direction to. the earth This meteoric belt being very thick at one por- tion causes the brilliant display which occurs once in every thirty-three years,ai which time the ses throngh the densest portion.
