Over two-and-a-half millions of dollars have been expended on the Road. Eighty-three miles are about completed and equipped, and already show large earnings; and the remainder of the line is rapidly progressing toward completion. ‘The State of Iowa, through which this road rans, is one of the richest agricultural sections in America. Ats large population, extending with surprising ra- pidity, and its immense yield of grain, pork, wool and other agricultural products, create « pressing demand for the construction of this road, which af- fords the best possible guarantee for the bondhold- ers, as the line runs through the wealthiest and most thickly populated section of the State. The road also rums through the rich and growing State of Minnesota. Reference to the map of the United States will show that it traverses the most enter- prising and growing portion of the West, and forms ome of the great trunk lines in direct communication with New York, Chscago and St. Louis, being to the latter city 9 miles nearer from Nerthern Iowa and all portions of the State of Minnesota than by any other road now built or prejected, and also the near- est route from Central and Southern lows. ‘The road is opened for local traffic as constructed, and thus KSCEIVES EARNINGS ON 1TS COMPLETED SECTIONS GREATLY 4N BXCKSS OF THE AMOUNT NEEDED TO PAY THE INTEKEST UPON ITS BONDS BEFORE THE KOAD 1S FINISHED. The buyer of these Bonds is therefore suaramteed by a great business a'ready tm existence om the route of the road, @s well as by new current earnings, and has not torisk any of the comtingencies which always attend the opeatne of roads in @ mew and unsettled country. A limited quantity only of these Bonds are now offered at 9.
