Mr. Vickers, in the Senate, this morning re- ported back from the Dis:rici Committee the bill to incorporate the churches and religious Societies and congregatioas in the District of Columbia. It provides that when any lot or tract of Iand has been heretofore conveyed to one cr more trustees for the use and benefit of any chureb, religious society, or congregation, or for a place of worship, parsonage, or cem tery. anc the same, with the improvements and buildings thereon, are now held by such trus- tees for such purposes, they are declared to be @ body corporate and politic, by the names of the respective churches, religious societies, or cor gregations whose interests they represent.
