Crowning the King—Prizes—Sports, &e. During yesterday the sheoting for the King medal was the principal atiraction at the Park, and during the day the sharp reports of the Tifles were almost continuous, so numerous Were the contestants for this honor, which during the past year has been held by Mr. Romanzar kudhardt of north 7tp street. The shooting on this occasion is said to have been Above the average at the previous fests, and striking the bull's eye was not an uacommon oveurrence. The shooting was continued until mear 5 o'clock, when the Schuetsea masters took the targets to mage their decision. ‘The attendance during the forenoon was small, there being but few visitors other than the immediate families of some of the members, who engaged in quiet tete-a-tetes “while their husbands ana fathers were engaged in shooting. President Henza occupied the head of the ‘able, and near him were Mr. Klin, ef the Baltimore Burger S. V.; Mr. Spangler, et she S. V. G, and other promiuent members. Toasts were drunk in sparkling champagne, and responded to by the above-named, Mr. Ruliman, and others. Notwithstanding the rain there was quite a crowd present, and dancing in the pavilion at least was kept up till midmight. On Monday might the Arions were present and some beautiful compositions, among others “De RKiaer,” Von Hasser,” and “The Forrest.” The Sangerbund have a meeting place on the ground, and will attend, aud othe er German Associations have accepted invita- tion to be present. ‘To-day the shooting wril be continued, and other sports such as bowling, bird shooting, with air guns, and dancing, wil! be enjoyed in by the adults, and among the youthiul the rizes on thegreased pole will be atiractive Fhe Karouse! ALEXANDRIA AND ViCINITY.—The Gazette of last evening has the following items : Land & ‘Persons at the North who desire to buy land adjacent to Washington and Alex- andria, are mformed that they can make good and profitable investments in Alexandria and Fairfax counties, where there are many fine tracts of land for sale, or which can be pur- chased, at comparatively low prices. This, in addition to the lands advert to be sold, un- der deeds of trust, &c. In Prince William. too, land can be purchased at cheap rates, very ad- vantageously situated. All the region round abent here is naturally productive, or sus- ceptible of improvement ata slight cost. It can be purchased, also in quantities to suit— from 5 to 500 acres just as may be desired. All this country will gradually be divided into small farms, and there ean be no safer or betten imyestment of money than in the lands of this section of Virginia. Seriously Injureg.—John H. Marshall, brakes- man on the fieight train of cars on the Orange, Alexandria and Manassas Railroad, of which B. C. Pauli is conductor, and which was bound to this city this morning. was struck by the bridge over Cedar Run, about a balfa mile this sice of Mitchell’s Station, knocked from the cars and seriouly injured. His condition was such when picked up that it was thouzht best to leave him at Culpeper Court House, when the train passed that place.
