Clerical errors can be cor- rectea by our certificates, and you will refase to receive ibe ballots of persons bearing said certificates at your peril. Z. C. Ropsins, S. Bowen, L. ULeraang. The following instractiens were read to the Commissioners ot Election for the Fourth and Seventh Wards: A ceruficate from the Judges of Election to the effect that any person has been registered 4s 8 qualified voter upon (he original list pre- pared by them must sutis.y the Com mission- rs of Elections that the said personis a regis- tered and aque ified voter. The Commission: rs ought to know that they willipcur a heavy penalty Tefus ng to receive the billot of a dcgally registered seer. Clerical errors can be corrected by (he Judges of Elections. S. J. Lowen, Z. O. Row L. CLEPHANE, Judges of Evections. We have been in ed that the Judges of Ele engoeed in issuing certificates at rate of one hundred per honr, to all voters, irre: pective of color or political stand. ing: tbat Mr. F. Alken, Dr. Clayton, and other white gentlemen who applied for certificates, were farnished as promptly and treated as courteously &s were colored men, or white Re- publicans: and that whenever complaint was mude to them that the Commissioners of Elec- ows f-fuecd their certificates, letters of in. strnetion similar to the anoye were written, (hurriedly. of course. witbont keeping copies,) and sent to said commissioners. age Et SS FisvtaNa.—The triends of Barney Aarons, the “light weight,” who is to contest, for the second time, the championship’ with Collyer, 2aye bim a complimentary benefit at Colum- bia Garden, just night. he attendance was very large. showing the interest feit in the evsuing mill, and in the combitants. Pre- vious to the commencement of the exercises Mr. Atrons stepped forward and thanked his multitude of friends for the +substantial” manner in which he was received, and said if it Was ever bis good luck to meet any of the company then present in New York he would endeavor in part to reciprocate their kindness. ‘Time was called, and the first set-tO was be- tween Dublin Tricks (Collyer’s second in the fight with Aarens) and young Billy Carroil. of Baltimore. This «bout was cleverly done. in which some pretty sparring was exnbibited, and several “knock-downs.” Carroll seemed to bave the best of the round. A solo by Da- vid Semple followed, after which Dan Kerri- gan, of New York, and Rasche Bolster, of this eity. came to the «scratch.” In this round Hasche bad the advantage. and showed con- siderable science and pluck. Then followed some wonderfnl exercises with the Indian ‘war-clubs, by Pretessor Judd, the trainer of Aarons, after wh there was a mild set-to beiween Teddy Ryan, of Alexandria. and Denny Ferguson, of the Seventh Ward. Then came the interesting event of the set-to be- tween Aarons and Dan Kerrigan, whicb was an exceedingly spirited affair, and brought down the house in loud cheers. Aarons is in the best possible condition for the coming con- test with Collyer, looking neat and clean from head to toe, not an ounce of ‘dead meat” be- ing observable: and he says he is perfect in all the elements tbat go to make up a “muscular Christian.” He deciares there isno whisky in bim, and should he live to see the day of the fight. he says he will whip Qellyer if it takes three hours. Aarons leaves to-morrow morning for New York, accompanied by bis trainer, Prof. Judd. 6 RecarToRE oF Kinv, MORTIMBR AND SivTH.—Yesterday, Lieut. Finding that they had been discoy- ered, they attempted to escupe their pursuers, ‘ut being pressed too closely, made a show of resistance. The officers exhibited their weap- ons and thefugitives again ran. King tried to onceal bimself under some beaps of newly ut hay, but was soon secured. Last nignt they were ironed together at the Georgetown sta- ion house and piaced in a car and brought to tbe city. King was quite talkative, and re- marked that it would bea safe bet that though they might be convicted in the Criminal Vourt, the key woald not be turned upen them in the Albany penitentiary. At the jail they were receiyed by Warcen Brown, who ordered them to be stripped aad searched before they were taken to the coils In erder to be sure of kceping them, aset of stiff irons will be made jor them by direciion of the Warden and riveted upon them to-day.
