The whites in the audience appeared early im the eveaing to evince @ disposition to create @ distarbance, and frequently greeted the speaker with cri of “Put bimdown.” The Judge replied t they could net put him down, when a rash was made and indiscriminate pistol shooting commenced on the Lacs # on the piatform, among whom were seve: prominent citizens of the town. Three or more persons were known to be shot, and probably many more. Judge Kelley was buried from the piattorm by bis friends, and a guard of soldiers’ was placed at the hotel where-he was stopping. No arrests are-known to have been made. A Mobile dispatch of last night gives the names of three persons who were killed by the rioters. The city was perfectly quiet yesterday. ‘Judge Kelley was invited by the Mayor to remaia and epesk last night, but he refused to’ do so.
