It wus de- cided by tne meeting to purchase the Gym- nasium at the price of one thousand dollars. Trustees were appointed to receive the title to the apparatus, and the treasurer authorized to pay the amountof the} urchasé-money over to the owner thereof. A committee was. also appointed to draft a constitution and by-laws for the government of the association until an act ofincorporation can be procured from Con- Tess. & Another meeting will be beld at the Gym- nasium next Wednesday evening, at which time the various committees will report and officers will be elected. es PLASTBRERS’ MEETING.~The journeymen plasterers of this city held a meeting at Shep- herd’s Hall, corner of Louisiana avenue and Seventh street, on Thursday evening, witha view to organize a protective association. The following named persons were chosen as offi- cers: Mr. Murphy, president; Mr. Columbus, vice president; B.. Edmonston, secretary; Jo- seph Rosenberry, financial secretary. On motion, the society adopted ‘the name, s‘Journeymen Plasterers’ Association of ‘Washington City,”’ and about forty persons signed the constitution. It was here urged by several members “that from and after June 1 the wages be $4 per day,” which motion was postponed until the next meeting; and the association adjourned.
