F., re. turning the thanks of the committee for the compliment paid the Fraternity by closing the schools on Friday, m order that many of the children may participate in the celebration. Also inviting ‘he Mayor and members of the Board to be present. The invitation was ac- cepted. r. Rhees, chairman of the committee on the annual report, read the same, and it was Adopted. On motion of Mr. Wilson, a vote of thanks Was tendered to Mr. Khees for the very agle manner in which he prepared the report Mr. Wilson also offered a resolution, which wes adopted, requesting the Mayor (0 ask the City Councils to order the printing of 2,000 copies of the report for the use of the Mayor, the Councils, and Board of Trustees. The report adopted iast evening is very full, and contains much information relative to tne public schools. Lloyd Diggs, indicted for larceny, was found guilty. Thomas Finley, indicted for assault, was convicted and sentenced to jail for 30 days. Alfet Snowden, indicted for Jarceny, was found ¢uilty and sentenced to 60 days in jail. This morning, Alfred Green, indicted for Jarceny, was convicted. Choland,jof this city, was in Georgetown during the fire at the market bouse. He had with hima gold watch and chain, $300 in one pocket, and about $50 in another, an account book and other articles. He was robbed on the street of his watch aud chain, the $50 snd the account book, the rob- bers missing the larger amount of money He notified detectives Carvoe and McDeviit. who immediately called Lieut. Essex to their aid. The Lieutenant was not long in suspect- ing the parties, and this morning recovered the watch. He arrested Seth Lunstord and CUbapman Dale as the parties who committed the act, and turned them over to detectives Ularyoe and McDevitt.
