Svea ianbengaie=sast a= THE CAPTURE OF PUEBLA. Demand for the Surrender of Vera Craz. New York, April 24.—Letters received from Vera Cruz dated thirteenth instant con- firm the capture of Puebla by the Liberats. Two demands were made for a surrender by General Porfierro Diaz, who promised to give quarter if promptly complied with, but they were rejected with scornful and insulting language. Gen. Diaz lost about two thousand killed end wourded and the Imperialis's lost one thousand killed and wounded. Diaz refusedio give quarter to the officers of the city. He caused all of them from the rank of Lienteu- ants up to be executed. The accounts of the actual number vary from 29 to 109. Immediately upon the captureof Puebla, Diaz sent three thousand men anda batiery to attack Vera Cruz. On the 12th instant a mes- senger was sent by the Liberals to demand the surrender of Vera Urnz The Imperial Chiefs in that ciiy held a conncil of war and no doubt is entertained that they would agree to capitulate.
