A few montbs ago a young lady of prepos- sessing Sppearance made her entree into the fashionable circles of Saginaw, Michigan. She WS possessed of beauty. and rumor said Was possessed of houses and lands and green- backs. Two | suitors, however, possessing braver hearts, re- fused to be daunted by the previous ill-fortane of their associates, snd made love to the fair one assiduously. Their importunities were at last rewarded, and they went bome with the full consciousness that they possessed the fair herself engaged to be married to two young men, with the law against bigamy staring her fall in the face. She tried in vain to pick a quarrel with one of them. They were both the mest agreeable of men, refusing to take um- brage a: (be most exacting of her demands. At lust the condition of affairs became unen durable. and she resolved to rid herself of one of ber lovers; which one to discard she could pot tell, for she loved them both alike. Several colors are already produced. and the invention is being extended to others. This starch 1s of great use for those bright but treacherously colored musiins that are very costly, but, as their colors wash out, con- tinvally perpiex their owners.
