The fury of the lioness in detense of her offspring, and the ferocious attitude of her companions in the cage, produced an extraor- dimary panic among the spectators, and seve- ral ladies fainted. After ashort pause Batty contrived to separate the lioness from the cnb, and the latter, about the size of a cat, was held up by the nape of the neck fer the inspection ofthe company.—Paris Correspondence of the Londen Express. @7 The spirits are playing the mischief with 2@ bowse im South Fifth street, Philadelphia, dashing pictures, vases, crockery, &c., &c., about the rooms with a frequency as mysteri- ous as it is destructive.
