These Tableaux, sixty-three m number, repre- sent the Scenes in Milton’s Paradise Lost—il- lustrating that great poem from beginning to end—the grandest subject in the, world. It is pronounced by the press, clergy, and people every where to be one of the finest and most sublime exhibitions ever witnessed, and almost divine in its character. We clip the foilowing notic eof it from the London Morning Chronicle. it was written by the celebrated Rev. C. H. Spurgeon. while the Tableaux were on exhibi- tion im that city: “The Miltonian Tableaux of Paradise Lost, which were exbibited last evening for the first tume at St. James Hall, is one of the most re- markable exhibitions we haye ever witnessed. It fully illustrates, and with thrilling effect, Milton's great poem, from beginning to end. ‘The scenes representing Heaven, the gathering of the Angels around the Almighty’s Throne, to heara new decree, the war of the Angels, and the casting out of He »n of Satan and his hosts, and Satan on his throne of royal state, addressing the fallen Angels, are all really sublime and of immense power, conveying to the beboider the most sublime and exalted idea of Heaven, and an awful and impressive idea of the infernal regions below. The scenes representing the Creation, the beautiful sunrise upon the young earth forthe first time, the moonrise, and finally the view inside of the Garden of Eden, the magnificent landscape scenery, water-falls, lakes and pastoral scenes, are each and all worthy the study of an artist. Parents should by ail means have their little ones attend the afternoon matinees of this pleasing and instructive exhibition, and have impressed upon their youthful minds the sol- emn and sublime truth of Man’s disobedience and fall, and God's Omnipotence.” We doubt whether Odd Fellows’ Hall will hold haif of those who willendeavor to gain admittance the first evening, anc we would advise an early attendance toavoid the rush around the ticket office. A grand matinee will be given on Saturday afternoon, commencing at three o'clock—doors open at two—when the price of admission will be 25 centsto all parts of the ball—children, 15. ea Corns, Bunions, Cluband Inverted Nails, sfully treated without pain, by Dr. hite, No. 424 Pennsylvania avenue, between 44 and 6th streets. This sale will be continued daily until the whole pesed of NEAB BELTSVILLE, ON THE WASHINGTON BRANCH OF THE BALTIMORE AND OHIO RAILROAD, The undersigned, as attorney for the owner, will sell at public saie, on the premises, on THURSDAY, THE sity PAY OF JANUARY, atl2 o'clock m.,a Farm, containing about 190 ACRES OF LAND. This land is situated ina neighborhood unsur- passed for health, the soilis of good quality, the place well watered, with a great abundance of wood. The imprevements consist of a very ordinary Frame House, with one or two small Out-houses, and a young Orchard of 300 Peach Trees, with other Fruit Trees on the place. From {0 to 60 acres is arable land; the balance is in wood—Pine, Oak and Chestnat. The wood will cut from 2,500 to $3,000 cords, leaving an abundance of wood and rail stuff for the support of the place. The location of this farm, being only 1%; miles from the turnpike and 2 miles from the railroad, and accessable to Washington and Baltimore by both railroad and turnpike, renders it particularly desirable to any person desiring a permanent home or wishing to speculate in real estate—the wood alone, after deducting expense of cutting and baul- ing, being worth as much or more than is asked for the place.
