Hooker co-operated with him, keeping his boats well up the river, within Signaling distance, while the battles of the ‘Wilderness were in progress. Capt. Hooker commanded the nava! forces on the celebrated tobacco raid to Fredericksburg, he in person commanding the seamen who went with the troops to capture and destroy the train con- iaimimg the tobacco. To him, in a great meas- “ure, is due the credit of clearing the Rappa- hanneck river of torpedoes and other obstruc- tions, the men of his command having fished ‘Dp all in that river from the mouth to Freder- icksburg, without a single life being lost—a tact attributable to the precautions adopted by Commander H. HH. wil! miss him much, and their kind wishes, ‘with those of many civilian friends, will go ‘with him. a MATRIMONIAL DrrricuLtizs.—Isaac Tay- jor, colored, having been discharged the United States service on account of & wound, returaed Bnd tound that his wite had taken another husband, named Henderson Heidrick. Isaac claimed his wite, Heidrick resisted, and both were taken to the watch house. Each paid a dine, and Isaac recovered his wife. Subse- quently Isaac had a quarrel with his wife, and gave her a thrashing, for which he wasarrested umd made to pay another fine, while his wife went back to Heidrick. Isaac challenged Heidrick to go to the east side of the Eustern ranch and havea fight. Tne challenge was Accepted: and arriving at the ground, Isaac drew a razor and Heidrick seized a stick of ‘wood, but before Heidrick could use his weapon eifectually Isaac struck him with the razor, Cutting a gash a foot long acrose his stemach. Fortunately the razor struck a rib, and thus Prevented a fatal wound. Heidrick was doing very well this morning. Isaac was arrested by Patrolman T. ©. Holson, dismissed tor intoxication. a ee A ReTUENED Encivg.—This morning, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad received, through the Military Railroad, one of their locomotives €235) which was captured at Martinsburg in the summer of 1°61, and taken overland to one of the roads leading to Richmond. The engine bas received some hard knocks, but is never- theless in running order. It was among those found by our fofces om the Richmond and Petersburg road after those places had been evacuated. The original tender attached to the engine bad been displaced by an old one of the Petersburg aud Richmond road, and it sah the name of «-Holden Rhodes” and num- Fr 8. ee Ronpgry.—Last Saturday night, Henry Young, of company A, 100th Pennsylvania Tegiment, robbed his comrade, Aug.
