Hall on Monday. r. Burr introduesd resolutions imposing a tax of 35 cents on each hundred dollars on the tazable property, with a discount of ten per cent if paid before the first of July, for the present year, and allowing a commission of eight per cent. to the collector, which was Adopted. A sesolution was also adopted directing the commitiee on improvements to parchase 500 stones to mark the boundaries, public roads, &c., in accordance with 4 late act of Congress. Aiso one directing the County Surveyor to survey and mark the boundary of the county trom the Potomac tothe Eastern Branch, which Was adopted Mr. Burr offered an ordinance respecting the observance of the Sabbath, which was passed. It provides that it shall be unlawful for any person having obtained a license for a tavern, reatanrantor Nouse of entertainment, to sell or offer for sale, or to keep open their bars or shops under a penalty of ten doilars, and twentr dollars foreach subseauent offence. It siso makes it uclawful to offer for sale any goods, wares or merchandise under a ponaity of from two to ten dollars. Also, &n ordinance in relation to licensing race courses, &c., which was passed It pro- vides that every person who shall keep or Maintain a public race fcourse inthe county shell first obtain a license for one year at 350, and if they shall permit a public race to be held, they shall be subject to a fine of ten dol- lars for the first oflence and twenty dollars for each subsequent offence. It also provides that all persons in the county who engage in taking pictures by photographing, ambro- typing or other similar process shall first ob- tain & license at ten dollars, under a penalty ot five dollars for the first offence and ten doi- lars for each subse uent offence.
