METROPOLITAN HALL.—There is no dearth of concer -ball «amusements in this eity just now, for three such institutions are in fall op- eration. None of them, however, have better pertormers or off-r more amusing entertain- mcrts "ban the new hallon D street, between Lith aud 12th. PRES1IVIGITATION.—But two more oppor- tunities are offered of seeing the fine magician, the «« Fakir of Ava’ —to-night and to-morrow night. He is certainly an extraordin ma. gician, and complet: ly mystifies his audiences. psa ae [From the National Intelligencer.} TROOPS CREDITED TO THE District.—_We are indebted to the politeness of the Mayor of the city for the annexed statement of the credits given up to the first of January last for troops Faised in the District of Columbia, and of credits yet to be allowed. The statement pos- Sesses interest for all our readers: Mayor's Orrice, March 24, 1961. Editors of the National Intelligencer - . GenNTLEneN: In your local colums of this morning information is sought as to the num- ber credited to the quota of the District. Credit has been obtained to the District for 5,0°7 men furnished previously tothe ist of Janvary, 1861. No credit has as yet, but will certainly be given for the number of men (1,183) obtained under the first draft, or the deduction made on accounte:f those exempted therefrom; none for those obtained since the first of Jan- uary, 164, by the committee charged with en- listments, {or for] those who have entered the general service (regular army) or marine corps, all of which are yet to be credited on onr quota. Though tbe enrollment here is far beyond what it ought to be as compared with the several States, and it is confidently expected will be materially lessened, I do not think it possible that the balance due at this time can exceed three thousand men. Respectfully, RicuaRD WALLACE. a seat e City RaitRoap AccipENT.—Last night, as car No. 16 was proceeding up Capitol Hill on the steep grade on the north side of the Cap- itol, the horses balked, and several of the pas- Sengers got off to help to push the car up the hill. A colored barber named Nathan Oldes, who resides on Virginia avenue, near Sth street east, was among the number, and while push- ing sgainst the forward dasher of the car the horses started suddenly, causing him to fall under the wheels, which passed over his left arm, causing & compound fracture near the shoulder joint, and his ancle was also sprained. The car was immediately stopped, and the in- jured man was taken to the drug store of Dr. J. B.Gar‘ner, on south A street, when Dr. Ford, of the Old Capitol, was called in, and dressed the wound. The conductor and driver, with the passen- gers as well as the above-named, rendered every assistance in their power, and had him removed to bis residence. The passengers en- tirely exonorate the conductor and driver from all blame. It is thought that an ampu- tation will be necessary. ————_ More Bawpy Hovsz Cases.—The police of the Second Ward continue to be busy with the fancy ranches in Hooker's Division. Yester- ‘day Officer Voss, with warrants issued by the Crimival Court, arrested Lucinda Johnson, one of the colored fancy of Graham’s Alley. and Bertha Brown, of 482 Thirteenth street, and delivered them to the U. The day before Mary Blake was arrested by the same officer, and was after- wards placed in custody of OfficersFrazier to enable her to secure bail for her appearance, which she did. —_—S THE GRAND BaLt in honor of the ladies ‘Who attended at the late Patent Office fair, will be given on Tuesday evening next, March 20th, and it well deserves to be patronized, both asx compliment to the ladies who so gener- ously gave their time and attention during th proyress of the fair, and besides the proceeds are to oe applied for the benefit of our brave soldiers.
