Mr. Utermehle, from the committee on police, reported adversely upon the bill reculating the deposit of coal ashes, and the petition ot Daniel Lynch; and the committee was discharged trom tLeir further consideration, Mr. Utermehle introduced a resolution in- structing the committee on the Asylum to in- quire into the expediency of providing suitable apartments for the accommodation of the in- mates of the workhouse department; which was adopted. Mr. Clephane, trom the committee on mar- kets, reported fayorably upon the bill for the relief of Jumes Bowen; but it was laid over by this arrange ment, and in my opinion should not be interfered with. Mr. Raubintroduced a resolution which was referrec, Tequesting the Mayor to consuit the Corporation Attorney on the one, of ob- tawing an injunction prohibiting the Washing- ton and Alexandria ilroad from destroying the north channel of the Potomac.
